FairLegal is an innovative research initiative aimed at developing a comprehensive Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform designed to detect and eliminate gender bias in legal texts of the Public Sector and in announcements from both the Public and Private Sector.

Starting from two pilot use cases, the project aspires to provide practical tools that enhance fairness and equality in modern administrative and legal procedures. It is implemented by three specialized partners: the University of the Aegean (via i-Lab), ITML – an experienced player in information technology – and Lioncode, a trusted provider of innovative software solutions.

At a time when AI is being integrated into critical social domains, FairLegal seeks to fill the existing gap in systems that ensure equity and comply with the EU’s regulatory framework for trustworthy and ethical AI, responding to a vital societal and institutional need.
