Objectives

Main Objectives of the FairLegal Project:

• Develop and disseminate systematic analysis to identify gender bias in official legal and administrative texts.
• Create innovative machine learning (ML) methods for bias mitigation, tailored to Natural Language Processing (NLP).
• Fine-tune a Large Language Model (LLM) to recognize and remove bias from public and private sector texts.
• Create a fully functional, unbiased dataset for use in model training.
• Produce a market-ready technological product aimed at public and private sector stakeholders (e.g., ministries, public institutions, HR companies, law firms).
• Bridge academic research with real market needs, boosting the competitiveness of participating enterprises.
• Promote collaboration between universities and businesses for knowledge transfer and innovation.
• Contribute to national and EU strategies on smart specialization, fair AI, and sustainable tech development
